I haven't written about this experience publicly - this is probably the most I've written about it. It has been so long since I've been there I hesitate to talk much about it anymore. I don't want to be one of those people who is talking about the great trip they took back in the long, long ago instead of talking about the cool thing that has happened since. But, I do love to write... and have written many thousands of pages by now about various subjects... maybe one day I'll figure out what to do with them. Thanks for reading.Patsy Terrellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03265729671827964868noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10718822.post-49960198772566586192011-02-08T07:17:54.459-06:002011-02-08T07:17:54.459-06:00Thanks, Judith. But I'm not sure it's something I'm inspired to do at this point. I did keep a detailed journal while there so I wouldn't forget details.Patsy Terrellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03265729671827964868noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10718822.post-45565485052442751032011-02-08T07:15:39.036-06:002011-02-08T07:15:39.036-06:00Sigerson... What social media gives people is a vo...Sigerson... What social media gives people is a voice they don't have otherwise. That's true in any part of the world. It allows people to tell their story in a way they've never been able to before. And they can tell it to a large number of people all at once. There's a reason the Egyptian government "pulled the plug." And, frankly, I needed no other indication the government should go than that they were trying to silence their own citizens. On the other side of the keyboard, people who are receiving those messages are people likely to care about openness. The internet was built in the idea of openness - not initially, but when it became a force. And people who believe in that will simply find a new way for the people to speak when government tries to silence them - just as they did in Egypt. Any people who have access to the internet can not be silenced any more.Patsy Terrellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03265729671827964868noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10718822.post-49733462246480088132011-02-08T06:59:55.812-06:002011-02-08T06:59:55.812-06:00Patsy,
