I take a tremendous amount of photographs. Sometimes they're little bits of the day, sometimes they're from an excursion, sometimes they're just things I run across. Some of them find their way onto the blog, but most of them end up in a computer file on a hard drive, never to be seen by anyone.
So, I think I'm going to start sharing more of them here. Some of these are pretty, some are evocative, some capture a fleeting moment that will never again be. Those all seem worthy reasons to share them.
This was taken in Kentucky a few weeks ago. I just drove by it and stopped to take a photo. I love that structure - looking like it's held up by plants. It reminds me of being a kid on the farm. Maybe it has a totally different meaning for you. Hopefully you enjoy the scene even if it doesn't bring up a memory.

I must get into the habit of carrying my camera. I have so many pictures in my head that I cannot paint or draw, but I didn't have the foresight to have my camera with me when they presented themselves.
I envy you. This evoked the memory of a tumbling barn that was eventually torn down. I've always regretted not having that picture.
I carry my camera almost all the time. It's a little hard on cameras, but it's the only way to know you're going to get those photos. I use the camera on my phone in a pinch, but the camera is better. I'm fond of the Canon 130 - about $200 and it does a decent job for what I want. If I had a DSLR the pix would be better, but I'm not willing to carry that around. It's a compromise. But, yes, you just pretty much have to carry a camera with you all the time or you miss those little things.
