Democrats Have Control

It's official now, the democrats have control of congress.

This is my plea to each and everyone of them:
Please, for the next two and a half years, keep your pants zipped. Don't text message anyone about anything. Don't accept any trips, meals or tips. Watch your p's and your q's and your emails and your phone calls. Don't buy porn, don't hire prostitutes and don't surf the net to anything racier than CNN. Don't loan out your car, your cell phone or your laptop. Don't buy or sell any stock, or make any other financial arrangements. Don't have sex or engage in any sexual activity, including conversation, with anyone you're not legally married to. Even then, keep it private. Please, keep your nose clean. And everything else too.

What you do in the next two years will determine whether or not democrats are in the Whitehouse in 2008. Don't screw it up.

Good List-
It's amazing how those things really affect how people vote. I believe the ethical issues around the GOP the past couple of months made more of a difference than the war for many voters.

On an older note. Wow, Garrison Keilor. I really have to get myself to one of his shows or lectures. I have no excuse, I'm right next to Minnesota.

I want all of these democrats to keep themselves clean. Many of us have invested a lot of energy in getting them elected - I don't want them to disappoint.

It's an odd system where I, here in Kansas, feel like I had a part in the Virginia, Ohio and Montana elections because of calling. But, there you go. They owe their victories not only to their constituents but to others who worked on their campaigns from afar.

Garrison is fun to see and he is a die-hard democrat. He was here for the state fair last year and did a fundraiser for the local democratic party afterwards. He had pulled an all nighter but was very gracious, stayed until the wee hours of the morning, and was perfectly charming. He often does book signings and takes time to chat with everyone.
